JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a resolute and meticulous Remote Accountant Assistant to join our client’s team at a dynamic building company based in Australia. This role is ideal for individuals who are proficient in accounting principles and possess a keen interest in the construction and building industry (though not mandatory). The successful candidate will support our client’s accounting department with various tasks, including data entry, processing transactions, and preparing financial reports, all while working remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and tracking payments.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and ledger maintenance.
  • Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with Tax Requirements.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing process.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather and analyse financial information.
  • Assist in budget preparation and expense management.
  • Provide administrative support to the accounting department as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of Australian accounting practices is necessary.
  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an accounting assistant or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and in a remote setting.
